This is going to have to be a quick post (sorry, work is calling). Below is the start of the kitchen remodel. We have gutted the room, removed the nasty old vinyl floor, began prepping the walls for paint. So far we are pretty happy — especially to see the hardwood floors under the vinyl are in pretty good shape.

We had a slight detour, when we realized we had to drain the boiler to remove the radiator. You can also see a close-up of the old icky floor too.
Gearing up to remove the Floor. Safety first!
Hardwood Floor! We forgot to take photos of the steps to remove the tar like glue/paper. But the floor went from gross to this in about 3 hours with just water. Sadly, in the process we ended up discovering some more plumbing issues, but those are fixed too.
Ta-dah! The floors need to be refinished, but otherwise are in great condition.
